Test Prep

Numbers matter. Stand out with improved SAT, ACT, and/or AP Test Scores.

SAT/ACT Test Prep

Getting a “high” score is important to maximize a student’s chances for admission and merit scholarships, and the vast majority of students need to spend around 20 hours preparing for each SAT or ACT they take.

The problem?

Most high school students (and humans in general) struggle with adhering to a rigorous plan to achieve a lofty future goal (New Year's Resolutions, anyone?).

This is where a solid, proven test prep plan adds significant value to a student’s college application process and can end up saving your family thousands in tuition costs.

This is an investment. And it can pay off.

What SAT/ACT Test Prep Provides

Expert tutors guide students through every step of the test prep process.

  • 1-on-1, individualized instruction in core areas of the test(s): Math, English, and Reading. There are no group classes. Why not? They aren’t as effective, don’t hold students as accountable, and don’t provide the flexibility of 1-on-1 sessions.

  • Personalized plans tailored to specific student strengths and areas of weakness

  • Ongoing accountability and feedback to stay on track

  • Access to a comprehensive Practice Portal

When to Start

Most students will begin testing in their junior year, but some start even earlier. It is recommended to begin a test prep program 8-12 weeks before a targeted test date. This will give the student sufficient time to master the material and develop effective testing strategies.

AP Test Prep

AP Exam scores can prove that students don’t just attempt rigor, but master it. High AP scores can make a significant difference in admissions and in your financial situation.

At Harvard, the average admitted applicant takes 6 AP exams with an average score of 4.7 (out of 5) before applying. Rejected students only take 5 exams, with an average score of 4.3. At UT Austin, students who earn multiple college credit hours in high school through AP exams are more likely to graduate in four years—a statistic that UT cares about deeply—and could lead to admission.

Additionally, the average cost of a college course ranges from $1,200 to $4,000. By preparing well for AP exams and earning a 4 or 5, a family will save time and money in the future.

What AP Test Prep Provides

A typical student increases their scores by a whole point for each exam. Expert tutors work 1-on-1 with students, providing individualized instruction in the following subjects:

  • English: Language, Literature

  • History: US History, World History

  • Math: Precalculus, Calculus AB, Calculus BC

  • Science: Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics 1, Computer Science A, Computer Science Principles

When to Start

Typically, around March or April of each school year. AP Exams are administered in May, and students should begin studying 4-8 weeks prior to their test date. This will give the student sufficient time to master the material and develop effective testing strategies.
